I Need a Permit to Do What in Dearborn?

Here are five permits you may need to obtain in Dearborn.

1. Building Permits

2. Commercial satellite dish

If the dish's outside diameter is larger than 30 inches, or you are using an antenna for short wave radio, a permit is needed. A non-refundable application processing fee of $40 and a minimal $15 plan review fee is due upon application submittal.

3. Pool permit

Installing or replacing a pool, spa, hot tub or sauna? Check with the city for the proper documentation and permit fee.

4. Fence removal

Three copies of a current land survey or site plan are required showing the following:

• All existing buildings and structures

• Indicate any side door that may exist on building

5. Weddings

Mayor John B. O'Reilly, Jr. is able to perform weddings within the city of Dearborn limits, schedule permitting. Please call the Mayor's Office at 313-943-2300 for more information. Couples must obtain a marriage license from the Wayne County License Bureau by calling 313-224-5514.

In the event that the mayor is not available, the 19th District Court judges can perform a wedding.
