Michigan Avenue Traffic Impacted By Wagner Place Construction

Two lanes of traffic will shift and left turns will be prohibited at three intersections. Find out where and for how long.

DEARBORN, MI — Construction of Ford’s Wagner Place development is forcing some traffic changes on Dearborn’s west side. Starting Saturday, no left turns will be allowed at the three Michigan Avenue intersections, according to Dearborn officials. They include Mason Street, Monroe and Oakwood in either direction.

In addition, traffic lanes will shift on eastbound Michigan Avenue from Mason to Oakwood. Some delays are anticipated and city officials suggest finding alternative during rush hours.

The traffic shift is expected to last until at least mid-December, and could take until Dec. 31. When completed, Wagner Place will transform about two blocks of aging buildings into a mixed-use urban space. The 150,000-square-foot development will have first-floor retail and restaurants, two floors of work space and a rooftop patio.

The Ford Motor Company is partnering the city and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation on the project, which will also include a new public parking deck, and common areas. Approximately 600 Ford employees will occupy Wagner Place once construction is completed.
