Minivan Crashes And Kills Two During Police Chase
Two men died in a fatal crash while being pursued by Detroit Police.

DEARBORN, MI — Two men are dead after leading police on a chase through Dearborn, according to a press release.
The incident happened on Jan. 2 at approximately 12:40 a.m. A Dodge Caravan was fleeing Detroit Police and barreling down Whitcomb when it was hit by a Ford Focus. The impact caused the Caravan to lose control, and the Caravan continued south on Coleman St. smashing into several unoccupied parked vehicles.
The crash claimed the lives of the two men driving in the minivan. The driver, a 23-year-old Detroit man, was transported to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries. The passenger, a 23-year-old Redford Township man, died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a Detroit man, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. His passenger, a Kalamazoo woman, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The case is still under investigation.
"This incident is a terrible tragedy and our condolences go out to all the families involved. This is still and active ongoing investigation and all other informational requests should be directed to the Detroit Police Department," Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement.
