New Henry Ford Art Exhibit Opens at Dearborn Public Library

An opening reception will take place on Thursday in the Rotunda Lobby at Henry Ford Centennial Library at 6 p.m.

In honor of Henry Ford's 150th birthday, the Dearborn Public Library, along with the Artist's Society of Dearborn, will unveil a new art exhibit on Thursday.

According to society member Dave Gorden, the exhibit will feature more than 50 pieces of artwork designed by artists inspired by the Model T and Ford's Fair Lane Estate.

"The exhibit captures the spirit of what Henry Ford stood for," Gorden said.

An opening reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Rotunda Lobby at Henry Ford Centennial Library. Speakers include Mayor John B. O'Reilly, Jr., Teresa Lousias, president of the Artist's Society of Dearborn, and guests from the Edsel and Eleanor Ford Home in Grosse Pointe Shores.

"The Edsel and Eleanor Ford Home is taking over stewardship of Fair Lane Estate from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Representatives will be available to update the public on the rehabilitation of the estate," Gorden said.
