Police Search for Dearborn Church Burglary Suspect

The following information was supplied by the Dearborn Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dearborn police are searching for the person who broke into a local church and did minor damage to the building's windows during the weekend.

The incident occurred at Mother of Our Savior Lutheran Church, 19100 Ford Road, around 4:55 a.m.

According to reports, officers responded to a burglary alarm and discovered that a door in the rear of the building was propped open with a rug and had two small windows broken out. A window in the building's main entrance was also smashed out.

Officers searched the building but did not locate a suspect. The church's office was locked and no items were removed from the building, police said.

A 72-year-old parishioner told police that the church no longer keeps valuables or cash in the office due to several burglaries in recent years.
