Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk Wraps Up in Dearborn
Dearborn residents are encouraged to support walkers and attend the closing ceremony at Ford World Headquarters on Sunday.

More than 2,000 participants in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure walkathon will pass through neighborhoods in Dearborn on their way to an emotional closing ceremony at Ford World Headquarters on Sunday.
This is the seventh year that the city of Dearborn has been a part of the 60-mile route for the fundraiser.
To show support for those battling breast cancer and their supporters as they travel through Dearborn, residents can hold signs, play music, cheer, and motivate walkers to feel welcome.
“This is just a tremendous event, and a great opportunity to illustrate that Dearborn is a community that cares,” said Mayor John B. O’Reilly, Jr.

“It is a chance for us to rally the walkers on their final leg and to promote our town. We want the dedicated participants to go home with a very positive impression of Dearborn, and our residents are key to making that happen," O'Reilly said.

Walkers will start west on the eastbound side of Ford Road, turning south on North York street. Walkers will then travel east on Wilson Street, then south on Elizabeth Street to Cherry Hill. The walkers will turn south on Cherry Hill to Ford Field Park. From there, they will go south on Brady Street to Michigan Avenue, traveling east to American Drive in front of Ford World Headquarters for the closing ceremonies, which should begin at about 4:30 p.m.
Friends, family and supporters should arrive at the closing ceremony site at least one hour early to get the best view of the program.
