Here are five things to keep an eye out for as you go about your week in Dearborn.
Tree Lighting Ceremony and Sing-Along:
-Dearborn’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Sing-Along will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center from 6 to 9:30 p.m. In addition to the tree lighting, event attendees can enjoy a presentation of "Frosty the Snowman" at the Michael A. Guido Theater, or listen to the Dearborn Big Band play holiday music in the theater lobby. For more information go to www.cityofdearborn.org.
Dearborn Board of Education Meeting Monday:
-The Board of Education will meet on Monday, Dec. 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the board room of the Dearborn Public Schools' Administrative Service Center.
Loose Leaf Collection Over:
-The last week for loose leaf collection in Dearborn was Dec. 2-7. If residents missed their final collection day they have the option of collecting any remaining leaves in proper yard waste containers and setting them at the curb on trash day. This can be done until Dec. 13, according to the city.

East Dearborn DDA Holiday Open House:
-The East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority board of directors and staff invite the public to their 5th annual Holiday Open House on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the EDDDA office, 13750 Michigan Ave., two blocks west of Schaefer. Join them and casually network with district merchants, residents, business partners, stakeholders and City of Dearborn officials. The event is free to attend.

Committee of the Whole Meeting Thursday:
-The Committee of the Whole will meet on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
