The coldest air of the season so far will also arrive this weekend.
A significant snowstorm is expected to dump several inches of snow across the Detroit area this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect the snowstorm to move into the area early Saturday afternoon with the heaviest snowfall coming at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The heavy snow is expected to continue through 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Forecasters warned roads will be slippery and drivers could face reduced visibility, especially Saturday night. Air travel will be impacted too.
Forecasters expect 4-7 inches of fresh snow across the region by early Sunday morning. The heart of the metro Detroit area will see 5-6 inches of fresh snow by the early morning hours.

The coldest air of the season so far will also arrive this weekend. Highs will remain around freezing levels and lows will dip into the 20s with wind chills in the teens. Lows will drop into the teens Sunday night with wind chills even colder, the weather service said.
