63-Year-Old Man Accused Of Having Child Pornography: Prosecutors

An investigation resulted in finding child sexually abusive material on several of the accused's electronic devices, prosecutors said.

DETROIT, MI — The chief finacial officer for the Harper Woods School District has been accused of possession child pornography, prosecutors said.

James Joseph Dennis, 63, is charged with four counts of possessing child sexually abusive material and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime, according to prosecutors. He was arraigned Friday in 32A District Court in Harper Woods.

According to prosecutors, an investigation by the Harper Woods Police Department culminated in finding child sexually abusive material on several of the Dennis's electronic devices located in his Harper Woods home.

Dennis received a $100,000 personal bail under the conditions that he not have contact with minors and refrains from using the internet outside of work purposes, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said Dennis will appear in court again for a probable cause conference scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 27; preliminary examination is slated for 1:30 p.m. June 3.
