Why are you seeking elective office?
To make the City Clerks Office run more smoothly.
The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The safety and Security of all ballots. I will make sure that all my trainers are properly trained in election procedures to better inform and train poll workers.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I worked for the Department of Elections for 6 1/2 years and I am a State of Michigan Certified Election Trainer.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
There is no voter education. Ballots are not counted correctly. Elections are not thought of as being honest or fair. The absence of ballot boxes. Mail is instructed to be sent to the wrong address.
How do you think local officials performed in responding to the coronavirus? What if anything would you have done differently?
The services that could be performed from home should have been done so. Staff should have handled phone calls from home.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.
I would return the clerks office to fiscal accountability. I would promote honest and fair elections and ensure the safety and security of all ballots. I would make voter registration and education my number 1 job.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I picked high visability sites for billboards. I changed the departments logo. I up dated the training material. I answered all complaints and problems to the voters satisifaction.
The best advice ever shared with me was:
From Congressman John Conyers, Jr. Don't worry about the people or problems behind you focus on the people or problems that are ahead of you.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I have the Education, Experience and Community contacts to do the job. I did the job, I know the job, I was trained by the former clerk to do the job.
