Charges Against Former MSU President Dismissed: Report
A judge has dismissed charges against ex-Michigan State President Lou Anna Simon stemming from the Larry Nassar sexual assault scandal.
MICHIGAN — A judge has dismissed charges against ex-Michigan State President Lou Anna Simon stemming from the Larry Nassar sexual assault scandal, according to reports.
The Detroit News reported that four counts were dismissed Wednesday against Simon, who prosecutors had accused of lying to police about how much she knew of allegations against Nassar.
Simon had been charged with two felony and two misdemeanor counts of lying to a police. The felony charges carried up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Simon last year was ordered to stand trial on the charges, which the Associated Press reported centered around a 2018 interview with detectives regarding what the university knew about complaints against Nassar.
