The Detroit Animal Care shelter continues to make it a priority to improve the treatment of animals in Detroit by making sure they stay at capacity within the shelter. Detroit Animal Care currently is over capacity and needs the community’s help in either adopting an animal or fostering one.

Now is the time for those who are interested in finding their “Furever Friend” to take advantage of three upcoming adoption events:

  • October 28th-31st - Howl-O-Week Adoption Event 11 am – 3 pm
  • November 8th-10th - Fall-N-Love 11 am – 3 pm
  • November 17th - Late Night Adoption 11 am – 7 pm

Adoption events will take place at the Detroit Animal Shelter located at 7401 Chrysler Drive, Detroit, MI 48211.  Adoption fees will be waived, and all dogs and cats will be fully vaccinated, sterilized and microchipped.

“Although people can come down any day to adopt an animal, events like these are often what it takes to get people to come take a look at the animals we have and find themselves that perfect pet,” said Detroit Animal Care Director Mark Kumpf. “We are over our capacity, and we need people to consider adopting and becoming a foster.”
