The new 15,000-seat stadium will be known as AlumniFi Field, named after the team's exclusive financial partner.
Developers are planning to build the stadium along Michigan Avenue and 20th Street, the former site of Southwest Detroit Hospital, which closed in 1991. Construction is expected to begin later this year, and officials are aiming for a 2027 opening for the USL Championship season.
