DETROIT, MI — A Detroit man has been accused of threatening Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Attorney General Dana Nessel, according to prosecutors.
Robert Sinclair Tesh, 32, is charged with false report of threat of terrorism, a 20-year felony, prosecutors said.
According to prosecutors, Tesh on April 14 made credible threats to kill Whitmer and Nessel while communicating with an acquaintance via a social media messenger. Later that day, the Detroit Police Department arrested Tesh at his Detroit home, prosecutors said.

"The alleged facts in this case lay out a very disturbing scenario," said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. "We understand that these times can be stressful and upsetting for many people. But we will not and cannot tolerate threats like these against any public official who are carrying out their duties as efficiently as they can. You can disagree with their positions or their methodology, but you absolutely cannot act as this defendant allegedly acted or you will be charged criminally."
Tesh was arraigned on April 22 before Magistrate Jeffrey Kleparek. Bail was set at $50,000 cash/surety with a GPS tether, prosecutors said.
