DETROIT, MI— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!
Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?
I am 57 years old, and my mom still checks on me and prays with me. She calls me and my husband at the beginning of every work week, telling [us] to keep love in our hearts for everyone and show care to all. That is so needed and blesses us — it helps me a lot to stay humble, patient and loving
Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?
I am her only child and she is still mothering me with passion and encouragement.
