Expect Storms With 60 MPH Winds, Hail Monday Evening

MICHIGAN — Severe storms are headed for southeastern Michigan Monday evening, according to weather forecasts. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for the following counties: Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe.

A cold front triggering scattered thunderstorms is passing through the state, creating isolated severe thunderstorms in the early evening and producing damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph.
Hail up to 1 inch in diameter is also possible. According to the weather alert, cloud-to-ground lightning is also occurring with these storms.

Flooding may happen in areas with poor drainage with all the heavy rainfall.

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91. South southwest wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday night
Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 68. West southwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday
Sunny, with a high near 81. North northwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday night
Mostly clear, with a low around 61. North wind 6 to 9 mph.

Wednesday
Sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 5 to 7 mph.

Wednesday night
Mostly clear, with a low around 62.

Thursday
Sunny, with a high near 82.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Friday
A chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84.
