Historic Boblo Boat Destroyed In Fire In Detroit
A historic boat from Detroit's Boblo Island was engulfed in flames Friday afternoon as firefighters battled to put it out.
DETROIT, MI — An old boat from Boblo Island caught fire Friday at Detroit’s Riverside Marina, according to reports. The entire boat is reportedly engulfed in flames and crews are battling the blaze at the marina.
The ship, the S.S. Ste Claire, was bought in 2016 by a collector who planned to restore it, WDIV reported. It was moved to the Riverside Marina last year.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
