Iconic Joe Louis Arena Seats, Signs Up For Auction
Snag a piece of the iconic arena for as low as $50.

DETROIT, MI — This may be your last chance to get a piece of history from the shuttered Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. The iconic red seats are being sold for $50, but this sale will last for just the next two weeks, according to reports.
Other Joe Louis Arena memorabilia will be sold on Tuesday, Oct. 23 via a one-day online auction. The auction starts at 8 a.m.You'll be able to bid on artwork, signage, iconic red railings from the riverfront entrance, billboards, lighting and locker room fixtures.

The Detroit Red Wings played at the Joe Louis Arena 1979 -2017. In addition to being the home base for four Stanley Cup championships, six Stanley Cup finals, various sporting events and concerts, the arena also hosted the 1980 Republican National Convention.
The revenue from the auction will be used to offset the city's cost of maintaining the arena, particularly utility and security costs. Miedema and Levy will be donating a portion of their fees to three Detroit Charities including Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation, Sparky Anderson's CATCH and Brilliant Detroit.
