Man Accused Of Threatening Police With AK-47: MSP
The suspect told the commander he had 100 AK-47 rounds for police and that he was "not going back to prison," police said.
WAYNE COUNTY, MI — A man is in police custody after Michigan State Police said he threatened officers while believed to be armed with an AK-47.
Michigan State Police said a family around 10:30 a.m. Monday reported a domestic assault that took place in Lincoln Park early Monday morning. The suspect in the domestic incident was alleged to be armed with an AK-47, police said.
After the domestic assault, the suspect left Lincoln Park and drove to Taylor, where he intentionally rammed a vehicle occupied by family members related to the victim in the prior domestic assault, police said.

A shift commander with the Michigan State Police called the suspect and asked that he turn himself in or at least come to the MSP Post to "sort everything out," police said. The suspect told the commander he had 100 AK-47 rounds for police and the family and that he was "not going back to prison," police said.
While continuing to talk with the suspect, the man continued to threaten officers and the family, police said. Over time, the man gave hints as to his wherabouts and troopers eventually were able to track him down along Southfield and Outer Drive in Detroit, police said.

The man was arrested and turned over to Taylor police, MSP said.
