Man’s Body Recovered From White Lake
Days after drowning, divers were finally able to locate the body of a 55-year-old Michigan man.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A man’s body was recovered from White Lake late Tuesday morning after the 55-year-old drown Sunday afternoon. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said the Hartland resident was swimming under and around a pontoon boat around 3 p.m. Sunday when he did not return back to the surface.
Extensive rescue efforts were underway Sunday and Monday, including using side scan sonar equipment, but visibility was low and there was inclement weather, authorities said. Tuesday morning around 11:30 a.m. divers were able to locate and retrieve the man’s body from 25 feet underneath the surface.
“I’d like to thank the residents of the White Lake Community, along with several local agencies, who responded and assisted in the rescue and recovery efforts,” said Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard. “The teamwork displayed throughout the last few days was crucial in bringing closure to this tragic incident.”
