Man Shot On Freeway After Sunday Evening Road Rage Incident: MSP

The suspect pulled alongside the victim's vehicle and shot him as they were traveling down the road, police said.

DETROIT, MI — One person was hospitalized after a possible freeway shooting Sunday evening that closed a stretch of road to drivers, Michigan State Police said.

According to police, a man made a 911 call around 7:25 p.m. on Sunday saying he had been shot while driving northbound on Lodge near Southfield Freeway.

According to Michigan State Police, the victim and the suspect were driving northbound on M-10 when a road rage incident took place.

The suspect, driving an orange passenger car, pulled alongside the victim's vehicle and shot him as they were traveling down the road, police said. The victim pulled off on to the shoulder of M-10, police said. The victim was later taken to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery, police said. He is expected to survive, police said.

Troopers closed northbound Lodge at Eight Mile Road while trying to investigate, police said.
