Metro Detroit Schools Closed Wednesday Due To Extreme Cold: List
Temperatures are expected to fall to -4 overnight with wind chills dropping to as low as -25 degrees, according to the weather service.
METRO DETROIT — Dozens of school districts across metro Detroit will be closed Wednesday due to extreme cold temperatures.
A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for all of southeastern Michigan through noon Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to fall to -4 overnight with wind chills dropping to as low as -25 degrees, according to the weather service.
The Detroit Public Schools Community District said it will monitor conditions Tuesday and determine later in the day if they will close Wednesday.

"More than 50 percent of our students walk to and from school or require school or city bussing, which would leave them exposed to dangerous temperatures in the early morning and afternoon," the district's website says.
