Public tours for the Michigan Central start Friday and run through June 16. Those tours are sold out, but new public tours will then be available on Fridays and Saturdays through August.

The iconic train station closed in 1988 and was abandoned until Ford bought the station in 2018 and began a years-long renovation, totaling $1 billion.

After reopening the station this month, officials will begin a phased reactivation of the building over the next several months and years, with plans to add restaurants, retail and other commercial and community-focused partners to take up residency.
