Michigan Weather: Thunderstorms, 45 MPH Wind Gusts Possible

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for southeast Michigan Monday.

MICHIGAN — Parts of Southeast Michigan, including Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, are under a hazardous weather outlook Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, the potential for thunderstorms increases later in the afternoon and the threat will continue through the night. Wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour are possible amidst the strongest storms.

Heavy rainfall may also cause minor flooding, the weather service warns.

The risk for thunderstorms continues into Tuesday and Tuesday night, according to the NWS. The weather service says the risk for severe storms is in place late evening Tuesday into the overnight hours when storms could bring damaging winds.

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. South wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South southwest wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Southwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
