More Snow, Bitter Cold Moves Into Detroit Area
Forecasters said weekend wind chills could drop to as low as -15 degrees in some areas.
An arctic airmass is expected to bring more snow and bitter cold temperatures to the Detroit area this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service says scattered snow showers return to the area Friday evening with highs only reaching the 20s. Forecasters only expect minor accumulations.
The snow showers will bleed over into Saturday before temperatures plummet into the single digits with overnight wind chills dropping to as low as -15 degrees in some areas across the region, the weather service said.

It will remain cold Sunday and Monday with highs barely cracking the 20s and lows falling into the single digits with sub-zero wind chills, the weather service said.
Forecasters said temperatures will finally start to warm up next Tuesday when highs climb back into the 30s. The warming trend will continue as highs across the region could then reach the 40s by the end of next week, the weather service said.
