DETROIT — A new Spanish-themed restaurant is opening in Detroit later this month.
Antidote will open at 14628 E. Jefferson Avenue in Detroit's East Village neighborhood on Jan. 19, owner Nya Marshall tells Patch.
Marshall, a Detroit entrepreneur and the founder of Ivy Kitchen + Cocktails, says Antidote is rooted in Spanish culinary influence and layered with global flavors, including Mediterranean.

Marshall sees Antidote as more than just a new restaurant.
"As a Detroit based real estate developer and hospitality operator, I have seen how one strong, consistent business can help shift the energy of a corridor, increase foot traffic, create jobs, and give people a reason to gather and stay," she tells Patch. "I opened Antidote with the goal of adding something beautiful and reliable to the East Jefferson community, a place where residents can celebrate, connect, and feel proud of what is happening in their neighborhood. This opening reflects my broader commitment to revitalization through development, hospitality, and long term community building."
