ROSEVILLE, MI — A former Detroit Police officer has been charged in connection with a crash that killed a motorcyclist last summer, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.

Corey Siquan Jones, 28, was charged with a moving violation causing death, which is a one-year misdemeanor. He was placed in jail and given a $5,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for March 5.

Prosecutors said Jones drove through a red light in Roseville and was hit by Evan Newman, 27, who had been lawfully traveling through a green light on a motorcycle.
