Pop-Up Storms Possible As Air Quality Improves: Metro Detroit Weather
No severe weather is expected, but forecasters warned the storms could produce heavy rainfall and strong winds.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Pop-up thunderstorms are possible across southeastern Michigan Wednesday as air quality improves across the region, according to the National Weather Service.
While it's still hazy across the region to start Wednesday, the weather service lifted the air quality advisory. However, the alert is still active in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
Forecasters expect the scattered storms to develop during the afternoon and evening hours Wednesday when highs reach the mid-80s.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms will stick around through the end of the week as heat and humidity gradually rise, the weather service said.
