Popular Almond Milk Recalled For Containing Real Milk

Blue Diamond's almond milk was found to have real dairy in it, according to the recall.

MICHIGAN — A popular brand of a milk-alternative is being recalled for containing actual milk in its ingredients. HP Hood LLC is voluntarily recalling 145,000 cartons of Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Vanilla Almond Milk due to the presence of milk. The cartons were sold in 28 states, including Michigan.

Anyone who has an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk runs the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products, according to the Federal Food & Drug Administration.

The recall only applies to cartons of refrigerated Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk with a use-by date of Sept. 2. The cartons are technically safe to drink if you don't have a milk allergy, according to the FDA.
