Semi Hauling 38 Cows Rolls Over, Closes Detroit Freeway
Some of the cows will need to be euthanized due to their injuries, police said.
DETROIT — A semi hauling 38 cows rolled over on the ramp from westbound I-94 to southbound I-75 in Detroit Monday, closing the freeway for several hours, according to the Michigan State Police.
Police said state police troopers said the semi lost control and overturned around 3:10 p.m. The freeway will be closed for several hours as crews work on cleaning the scene, officials said.
Troopers are waiting for another livestock trailer to arrive on scene from Albion to transport some of the cows, police said. Some of the cows will need to be euthanized due to their injuries, police said.
