This Michigan lawmaker wants to repeal the state's bottle deposit law. Here's why.

MICHIGAN — A new plan in the works in Michigan would repeal the state’s bottle deposit law.
State Rep. Joe Bellino recently introduced the legislation. The Monroe lawmaker believes ending the 40-year bottle deposit law would boost participation in community recycling programs, according to reports.
Under the plan, the state’s bottle deposit law would end on Dec. 31, 2022.
