Undercover Police Nab Man Attempting To Have Sex With 14-Year-Old

A 59-year-old Michigan man was busted by police after reportedly using social media to try to arrange sex with a 14-year-old girl.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MI — Undercover detectives last week arrested a 59-year-old man in Holly who reportedly wanted to have sex with what he believed to be a 14-year-old female on social media. Goldsmith sent photographs of male genitalia to the female and requested to meet with her for sexual purposes, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. Goldsmith was given an address by undercover MACE detectives to meet with the female in Harrison Township.

On Thursday afternoon, Goldsmith arrived at the location and was taken into custody without incident, police said. Goldsmith was lodged at the Macomb County Jail and the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office issued a seven count warrant for Goldsmith; four counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity (20 year felony), one count of Computers – Internet – Communicating With Another to Commit Crime (20 year felony), one count of Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes (4 year felony), and one count of Computers – Using to Commit A crime – (7 year felony).
