Wayne County Mother Accused Of Abusing 13-Month-Old Son
There is an investigation of another suspect, a man prosecutors did not release the name of, in connection with the case as well.
WAYNE COUNTY, MI — A 34-year-old Ecorse woman has been arraigned on a felony child abuse charge after Wayne County prosecutors accused her of abusing her 13-month-old son.
Lisa Marie Reed was arraigned Thursday afternoon in 25th District Court on one count of first-degree child abuse, prosecutors said. The felony is punishable by life imprisonment or any term of years.
Prosecutors said Ecorse police officers responded to the 3900 block of 7th Street around 8:06 a.m. Tuesday following the report of a child being abused. One child, Zyaire Reed was pronounced dead, prosecutors said, while Zion Reed survived and is receiving treatment for injuries.

Prosecutors said Lisa Marie Reed is accused of physically abusing Zion Reed. There is an investigation of another suspect, a man prosecutors did not release the name of, in connection with the case. Prosecutors would not release any additional information regarding that case.
Lisa Marie Reed is scheduled for a probable cause conference set for 9 a.m. Aug. 11.
