Weekend Weather: Severe Storms Possible Starting Friday
The National Weather Service has predicted wind gusts up to 60 mph, isolated thunderstorms and local flooding this weekend.

METRO DETROIT, MI —A bout of severe weather is expected to pass through Southeastern Michigan Friday afternoon, with winds up to 60 mph and isolated thunderstorms. There’s several warnings in effect, including a Lakeshore Flood advisory. Rain is expected throughout the weekend, heading into Monday.
The National Weather service said there is a slight risk of severe weather Friday afternoon and evening as an upper level low pressure system approaches the state. The main threats will be isolated wind gusts up to 60 mph and damaging hail up to 1 inch in diameter. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible, which may cause minor flooding in areas of poor drainage.
A Lakeshore Flood Advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. Persistent 20-25 mph wind is expected to produce waves in the 3-4 foot range. Local flooding is expected as water levels may exceed 68 inches, according to the advisory.
