Here's Where Swifties Can Celebrate 'Life Of A Showgirl' Release In the Detroit area:

Fans can stay home and stream Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” when it drops at midnight Friday, but there are plenty of ways in the Detroit area to celebrate its release with fellow Swifties.

Fans of the 14-time Grammy-winning singer and songwriter can attend listening and dance release parties scheduled throughout the weekend in the Detroit area, including:

  • Royal Oak Public Library, located at 222 E 11 Mile Rd, Thursday at 6 p.m.
  • Hammer and Nail, located at 3800 Woodward Ave in Detroit, Thursday at 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Brooklyn Detroit, 2000 Brooklyn St building b, Friday at 5 to 9 p.m.
  • The Streatery, located at 5955 Allen Rd, Allen Park, Friday at 8 p.m.

Some 500 Target stores nationwide are opening at midnight Friday for the album’s drop, including stores in the Detroit area. Fans can purchase three Target-exclusive CD versions of the album while supplies last. Target has limited purchases to four per customer.

Swifties can also choose to attend the world premiere of the music video, “The Fate of Ophelia,” at select AMC, B&B, Cinemark and Regal theaters from Friday through Sunday. The approximately 89-minute music video includes behind-the-scenes footage of the music video shoot, brand-new lyrics, and Swift’s never-before-seen personal reflections on “The Life of a Showgirl.”

“Dancing is optional but very much encouraged,” Swift wrote in a post on Instagram.

Theaters in the Detroit area premiering the video include AMC, Phoenix, MJR, GQT and Emagine.

If they prefer to listen in their own homes, Swifties can pre-save the album on platforms like Spotify. Apple Music and Amazon Music, and it will automatically be added to their library when it becomes available.

Swift revealed the cover and release date for her 12th studio album on the “New Heights” podcast hosted by her fiancé, NFL football star Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason.

The 12-track album includes collaborations, with the closing title track featuring Sabrina Carpenter. The full track list includes:

Although the new album doesn’t focus solely on Kelce, she said on the “New Heights” podcast that it does explore public scrutiny surrounding their relationship and “everything that was going on behind the curtain” during her Eras Tour.
