Woman, Child Safe After Barricaded Gunman Surrenders In Detroit
A woman and a 1-month-old child are safe after they were caught in a Detroit home with a barricaded gunman early Tuesday morning.
DETROIT, MI — A woman and a 1-month-old child are safe after they were caught in a Detroit home with a barricaded gunman early Tuesday morning.
A 33-year-old man had the woman, 30, and the child inside a home on Stoepel, off Livernois and near Fullerton, WXYZ reported. While police took the man into custody, WXYZ reported, the woman and child were put into protective custody.
The gunman situation began with a shot fired call at a duplex on Stoepel, the station reported. The man was armed with a short rifle and had fired the weapon while police were near the home, WXYZ reported. No injuries were reported, according to the station.
