Woman Dead, 2 Kids Hurt In I-94 Crash In Detroit: Police
Investigators do not believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
DETROIT — A woman is dead and two kids were injured in a Sunday night crash on a Detroit freeway, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 10:25 p.m. on Interstate 94 near Chene Street in Detroit, according to police.
Police said a 27-year-old man was driving a Nissan Sentra in the eastbound lanes when he got into an argument with his passenger, a 28-year-old woman.

During that argument, the woman-who had been drinking, grabbed the steering wheel, causing the man to lose control of the car, according to police.
The car then crossed over all lanes on the freeway and hit the left concrete wall, according to police.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to a nearby hospital where she died, according to police.
Two children (ages one and two), who were also in the car, were to a local hospital where police did not provide an update on their condition. They were both restrained, according to police.
Investigators do not believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The crash was still under investigation.
"Troopers still have some investigation to complete on this crash," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said. "We want to remind drivers and passengers to wear their seat belts anytime they get in the vehicle."
