WWE Summerslam Coming To Detroit This August
The August event will be the biggest World Wrestling Entertainment show in Detroit since Wrestlemania 23 in 2007.

DETROIT — World Wrestling Entertainment announced Tuesday that its biggest summer event is coming to Ford Field this summer.
WWE Summerslam will be held Aug. 5 at the home of the Detroit Lions. It will be the company's first live event at Ford Field since Wrestlemania 23, which packed over 80,000 fans into the stadium, setting an attendance record for the venue in 2007.
Tickets for the event go on sale April 14 via Ticketmaster channels. Pre-sale information can be found on World Wrestling Entertainment's website. The event will also be streamed live on Peacock.

"We are excited for Ford Field to host WWE’s biggest event of the summer and look forward to the WWE Universe converging on Detroit to celebrate SummerSlam’s long-awaited return to Michigan," said Dan Ventrelle, EVP, Talent at WWE.
WWE Summerslam is the company's second-biggest show of the year, only behind Wrestlemania, which will be this year on April 1 and 2 at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium.

The news also comes after the Detroit police and fire pension board sued World Wrestling Entertainment to prevent a sale after former CEO Vince McMahon reclaimed power within the company.
