Malcom Maddox Returns To WXYZ After Sexual Harassment Claims

Malcom Maddox returns to WXYZ after investigation into sexual harassment claims turns up false.

DETROIT, MI-- Malcom Maddox returned to WXYZ on Friday morning, after accusations of sexual harassment were leveled against him by Detroit pastor, Rev. W.J. Rideout III, Maddox was taken off air as the station investigated into the claims.

WXYZ had announced this morning on a statement posted to their website from E.W. Scripps Company, that they plan to take no action against Maddox, or the other employees mentioned during the press conference held by Rideout on Dec. 06.

After the press conference, WXYZ had put Maddox on administrative leave to conduct the investigation into the claims.

The company said there had been no evidence to back Rideout's allegations against Maddox, or news anchor Stephen Clark and General Manager Mike Murri, all of which Rideout had accused of ignoring inappropriate behavior.

"Scripps takes these kinds of allegations very seriously and believes everyone should be able to work in an environment where they are treated with respect and dignity. Because of these findings, Malcom Maddox is returning to anchor the morning news, " the station said in the statement posted to their website.
