2 Dead After Standoff In Oakland County: Police
Police believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident.
FARMINGTON, MI — A man and woman are dead after a Sunday standoff in Oakland County, according to police.
The incident happened at 6:12 p.m. Sunday evening at a home in the area of Farmington Road between 9 Mile and Grand River in Farmington, according to police.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman who had been shot and the suspected gunman locked inside the home, according to police.

First responders immediately tried to help the woman, but she later died from the injuries she suffered in the shooting, according to police.
After a several hour stand-off, officers entered the home and found the suspected gunman, a 51-year-old man, dead from a self-inflicted gunshot, according to officials.

Police said there was no further danger to the community.
Officials were still investigating the incident.
"On behalf of the Farmington Public Safety Department, we extend our deepest condolences to both families during this difficult time," said Farmington Public Safety Director Bob Houhanisin.
