Alleged Pot-Smoking Teen Burglar May Have Struck Farmington Hills
Police are investigating whether an in-custody 17-year-old could be to blame for local car break-ins.

A 17-year-old Farmington boy was in police custody this week after investigators said he admitted to smoking pot and then breaking into at least a dozen parked cars.
The teen currently faces charges for possession of marijuana and violating probation. He was being held Thursday in the Oakland County Jail, reported HometownLife, and was awaiting other charges.
“We’re still trying to link a lot of cases together,” director of public safety Frank Demers said, in the article. “We got the suspect’s statement and have since matched up (some of the LFAs), and we’re working with Farmington Hills to see if got into any of their (residents’) cars, too."

Officers arrested the boy on the morning of May 26. His questionable backpack-stowed booty reportedly included marijuana and paraphernalia; as well as several cell phone chargers, pairs of sunglasses and a collection of loose change.
The related larcenies along Orchard Lake Road and in the Brookdale Condominiums complex had all been reported during the past couple weeks.
