Indivisible- NonPartisan District 9, Save the World Host Community Conversation
'Save out Health Care, our Communities, and our Democracy' is on March 3 from 7 -9 pm.

From Resistance Recess: Hello Farmington-Farmington Hills Patch,
Indivisible- NonPartisan District 9 is partnering with Farmington Hills group Save the World to host a community conversation entitled "Save our Health Care, our Communities, and our Democracy," this Friday night (March 3rd), 7:00-9:00pm, at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Farmington (25301 Halsted Rd).
For this event, we will be recording the "Affordable Care Act Stories" of local individuals and families and broadcasting them to members of congress, to let them know what ordinary Michiganders stand to lose with the repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). We are demanding that our elected representatives continue to provide access to quality and low-cost healthcare for all in this country. Attendance is free and open to the public, and we wanted to extend an invitation to the local press if you are interested in covering this event.
In the President's address to the nation before a joint session of congress he missed an opportunity to lay out before the American people his party's plans to fix, what he has a called a "disaster" for the American people, the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

This can only signal what has been widely reported that the GOP controlled congress does not have a plan. Although in the last 40-days since the election, the GOP has control of both the executive branch and the legislative branch, no real plans have emerged. There have been outlines and proposals, and nearly all suggestions will result in millions of Americans losing their health care coverage.
However unless those impacted by the high risk stakes of repealing the ACA - without a replacement - do not raise their voices, these repeal proposals will be pushed through congress and find their way to POTUS' desk, where they will be enacted into law.
Grassroots activism is working, the NYTimes reported, "After weeks of loud protests across the country from voters who are fearful of losing their health care, Republican governors complicated matters further this week by joining Democrats in a call for a replacement plan that would ensure coverage for the 20 million Americans who gained insurance under the Affordable Care Act."
