Detour: Weekend Roadwork Shuts Down Interstate
Don't let area construction impact your driving plans this weekend. Read on to avoid the chaos that will be I-696.
Construction season has officially descended on Oakland County, leading to headache-inducing weekend lane closures, including those on Interstate 696.
Workers will shut down westbound I-696 at 9 p.m. Friday, according to Click On Detroit, affecting ramps between Lahser Road and the I-275/I-96/M-5 interchange until 5 a.m. Monday.
Avoid the chaos:Â A detour is offered from westbound I-696 to northbound M-10, then southbound US-24 near Telegraph Road to westbound M-5 and westbound I-96.
