Diana Lewis Teams with County Officials on Anti-Violence PSAs

Oakland County commissioners and retired WXYZ-TV anchor Diana Lewis worked together on public service announcements designed to raise awareness about age-appropriate video games and the importance of gun safety. 

"These public service announcements being released are a result of a series of public informational hearings that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Public Services Committee conducted throughout the year," said commissioner Bill Dwyer, who represents portions of Farmington and Farmington Hills. 
"These PSAs are a key component in implementing recommendations from the report."

Commissioner Marcia Gershenson, who also represents a portion of Farmington Hills, said the video game announcement will be aired in January on public access and local government channels. The gun-lock video will air in February. 

"Getting the conversation going about age appropriate games and the ratings system is very important and it is my hope that people will pay attention as we release the first public service announcement in January on video games," Gershenson said. 

“Sometimes, I don’t think parents realize that they can be powerful and loving at the same time," Lewis commented. "Having a firm stand on the types of games a child is playing demonstrates true concern for that child’s well-being."
