Expensive Watches Taken From Farmington Hills Home

A Farmington Hills couple returned from a trip out of town to find someone had taken watches from the bedroom of their home in the 29000 block of Shenandoah Drive.
According to the report filed by Farmington Hills Police, the couple initially found no sign of a break-in, and other items stored with the jewelry were not taken. However, police found pry marks on a sliding rear entrance door. The report indicated that a Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch, valued at $7,500, and a 1940s Hamilton Tank watch, valued at $400, were taken.Â
Drunken driving charged
An off-duty police officer helped his colleagues stop a driver that he spotted weaving on east Eight Mile Road, near Orchard Lake Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, the officer followed the driver, who nearly ran his vehicle into the ditch before on duty police stopped him.ÂThe report indicated that the man refused a preliminary breath test, but a test at the police station showed his blood alcohol content was .22, more than twice the .08 legal limit.Â
Car tires taken
The owner of a vehicle parked under a carport in the 26000 block of Halsted June 26 called police after finding the car up on blocks the following morning.
