Gunman Dead, 1 Hurt After Oakland County Standoff: Sheriff

Police believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident.

FARMINGTON, MI — One person is dead and another person was injured after a Sunday standoff in Oakland County, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened at 6:12 p.m. Sunday evening at a home in the area of Farmington Road between 9 Mile and Grand River in Farmington, according to officials.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a woman who had been shot and the suspected gunman locked inside the home, according to officials.

After a several hour stand-off, officers entered the home and found the suspected gunman dead from a self-inflicted gunshot, according to officials.
