A couple of holiday-themed events are coming up at the Farmington Hills Nature Center in Heritage Park

The first is the special Thanksgiving for Nature event from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21. Kids and adults can drop by any time during those hours for a self-guided “mystery clue” hike through the trails of Heritage Park.

Participants will receive a list of clues and directions that will help them on their quest to find reasons to be thankful for all of nature’s gifts. Those who complete the scavenger hunt will be eligible for a Thanksgiving prize.

In addition, special guest Genot “Winter Elk” Picor will lead Native American games, songs, and storytelling at the campfire from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Kids can even make some unique nature crafts to take home, as well as check out the new animals and displays at the Nature Center or warm up with some hot cocoa while there.
