I-696 Project Forces More Road, Ramp Closures In Oakland County: MDOT
Crews shut down part of Inkster Road and a ramp to the Lodge Freeway in Southfield as part of the construction project.

SOUTHFIELD, MI ā A section of Inkster Road in Southfield is closed through part of the month as construction crews work on Interstate 696, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Inkster Road between 11 and 12 Mile Roads closed Monday and will stay closed through March 18 with a shoulder closed through early May, officials said.
Local traffic will be allowed through up to the Interstate 696 bridge, officials said.

Inkster Road detours:
- Northbound Inkster Road will use westbound 11 Mile Road to northbound MiddleBelt Road, then eastbound 12 Mile Road to Inkster Road.
- Southbound Inkster Road will use westbound 12 Mile Road to southbound MiddleBelt Road, then eastbound 11 Mile Road to Inkster Road.
A southbound Telegraph Road ramp to southbound Michigan 10 (Lodge Freeway) in Southfield also closed Monday for bridge work, officials said.

Crews expect to reopen the ramp sometime near the end of March, officials said.
The road closures are part of the ongoing Interstate 696 project between Telegraph Road and Interstate 275. Both directions of traffic on the freeway are currently sharing the eastbound lanes, which were rebuilt last year.
