Man Hit, Killed By Multiple Cars On Oakland County Freeway: Police
Police were still trying to identify the man.
SOUTHFIELD, MI — A man was killed after he was hit by multiple cars on a freeway in Oakland County on Monday night, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened at 11:15 p.m. on the Southfield Freeway near 9 Mile Road just south of the Lodge in Southfield, according to police.
Police said the man was walking along the right shoulder on the southbound side before crossing into lanes of traffic when he was hit by a car. The driver of that car pulled over right after the crash, according to police.

The man was then struck by multiple other cars that did not stop at the scene, according to police.
The man died at the scene, according to police.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash by the driver who stopped at the scene.
Police said the man did not have identification on him and they could not identify him after using a mobile fingerprint scanner.
Police were still trying to identify the man and were waiting for medical examiner reports.
"Troopers are continuing their investigation into the identity of the pedestrian," said Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw. "We want to remind members of our community to not walk on the freeway or get out of their cars if your vehicle becomes disabled or you are in a crash. Stay in your vehicle and wear your seatbelt."
