Money Names Farmington Hills Michigan's Best Place To Live

In late January, Money Magazine named Farmington Hills the best place to live in Michigan. The selection came when Money released its annual list of the best places to live in America, making choices based on factors like job growth and affordable housing. The Money blurb notes these factors in Farmington Hills, citing projected job growth of 5.36% and a median household income of $71,154 a year.

Of course, the amenities Money attributes to Farmington Hills are actually one town over. In calling Farmington Hills the best, the Money item points to downtown shopping and recreation: “residents get easy access to boutique shops and an old-fashioned movie house just a couple of miles south, in adjacent Farmington.” While Farmington Hills and Farmington aren’t actually the same place, per Money, it’s close enough to count.

Farmington is actually surrounded by Farmington Hills, so it’s not hard to see where Money got the idea that Farmington’s shopping district is an amenity…for people in Farmington Hills.
